Finally, my Assassin's Creed: High Noon cosplay was finally created! I had SOOO MUCH FUN at Wondercon you would not even believe... My first convention, and I have seriously found my calling. Made so many awesome friends and new people, so much nerd stuff that made me giddy, and had so many people want pictures! Even got to me Cas Anvar (Altair's voice from Revelations) and apparently he had heard about me throughout the day and was impressed with my costume EEEEHEEEHEE
My original costume design can be found here: westernspice.deviantart.com/ar…
Not only did you manage to make such an amazing costume, you got to go to one of the conventions! I've always wanted to go to an convention and even have my own costume designed, just haven't gotten to making it *dies*
Amazing job on the convention and glad to hear you got to meet the guy who did Altair's voice!
YOU CUTIE, YOU KNOW WAT THIS MEANS
WE MUST GO TO ANOTHER ONE i dont know about conventions so you just tell me when there's a good one
goshdarnit didn't get into comic con - although no surprise there LOL //dies//
AND GO TO AX!! E V E
or Long Beach Horror and Comic Con O W O
AX: is it just anime stuff or what? i'm not totally into a whole lot of anime and manga, but i know the AC group from wondercon is going so that's confusing... seeing as AC is neither. Just would like to know since the people i go with aren't really into it either, and if they don't go i don't get a ride.
basically explain it to me.
Even though AX is essentially about anime, as in most of the panels are about anime and manga, there are still things that feature other subject matters. The exhibit hall is a lot like the one at Wondercon where lots of people are selling stuff, but not all of it is related to anime. There are lots of people selling things from "regular" tv shows and movies. The same goes for artist's alley. Granted a lot is still about Japanese related items, but there are still A LOT of stuff based on video games and other franchises.
On top of that..... THERE ARE A SHIT TON OF ASSASSIN'S CREED COSPLAYERS. I saw more cosplayers from AC at AX last year than I did at Wondercon. There are also lots of people that go as Disney characters or Marvel or DC characters. I went for two days as Poison Ivy last year and I certainly wasn't the only one.
If you're interested in going to panels revolving around video games that have less to do with anime/manga then perhaps AX isn't right for you. But in my experience it's more fun to dress up and make friends than to go to the panels. Plus going to the venders and browsing through stuff is always a blast. Most people have played or at least know about Assassin's Creed and everyone is appreciative of a great cosplay, especially from that game. The AC cosplayers always get a lot of attention from what I've seen and your unique look would certainly have people fawning over you.
long explanation...hope that helped hah
